Book 2
So I’ve done the best I can with Book 2 and it’s currently with my editor (Sophie Playle.) Should be back with comments by the 26th of July. I’m really hoping she likes it.
I was getting bored not having any work to do but then I read the blog which told me what I ought to be doing. The creative mind is a disorganised one. This will be my excuse – and I’m sticking to it.
- Plan write up Book 3 while waiting for first edit on Book 2.
- Action Find a complete copy of Book 3 on the computer.
- Copy it to the memory stick.
- Send it to myself as an email๐๐๐Thanks to John for the idea. (Won’t make that mistake (i.e. losing all my work) again.)
Book 4 awaits. Oh goody!๐ Still a lot of work to do.
I might skip it and move on to Book 5. I love Book 5.
Actually the book 5 plan won out. This is the one book I have no residual words on the computer for only a well worn book. So as usual (with me) the beginning is slow and the ending needs a lot of tidying up but the middle pleases me a lot. Currently up to 8,000 words after a week of hard work. I’m a slow typist.
It’s raining and I have been having deflating thoughts. In spite of a good review and some advertising that I hoped would work sales are still non-existant for the whole of July and a lot of June.
I have been thinking deep thoughts. Is it sheer vanity to continue producing books that no-one wants to read? (To say nothing of can I afford to? I can always get a Saturday job (who needs spare time anyway?) Or cut down on my coffee consumption and who needs clothes – even the charity shops are expensive these days.)
I think vanity has got to prevail because without the books I feel like I’m nothing. Just biding time and wasting life.
