Herai Reviews Extracts

With well written characters and a complex plot, Herai has become one of my favourite novels. (Thanks Beaatm 4 out of 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

This novel does a fine job of teaching us how adverse fate can be surmounted and surpassed. Readers will enjoy the author’s simple yet engrossing writing style. This book will appeal to readers of all ages. I rate this book … for its outstanding plot and idyllic story (Thanks Zeldasideas 4 out of 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

This is a fantasy fiction book that is completely different fron the others. I like the concept of the story and I find it very enjoyable and gripping. (Thanks IfeomaD 4 out of 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

I wasn’t initially drawn in by this book’s premise, but the promise of a gay representation was an instant sale for me because I’m a simple lesbian. I feel regretful even thinking about the doubts I first felt because Herai is just…something the world needs more of. Metaphorical gold star on your forehead, Mr. Aaron D. Key…As part of the LGBTQ community, I’m grateful to Mr.Key for writing a novel that could appeal to a broad audience to help normalise gay characters into any type of setting without making their sexuality their whole identity. I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, entertaining read. Though it does deal with some mature topics so be warned. Thank you Campanella😁, 3 out of 4 stars⭐⭐⭐)

I can say without hesitation thatI enjoyed this book … A remarkable work of fiction, Herai is wholly original and interesting, with an incredible cast of characters and a world that truly feels alive. If you truly want to read a work of fiction that is entirely unique and original, with a cast of characters that even when they aren’t likeable are still appealing and which treats LGBTQ+people with respect as characters in their own right then I cannot think of a better book for you. I wholeheartedly reccommend this to anyone looking for a breath of fresh air in a genre that desperately needs it. ( Thanks Changeling Tales 3 out of 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️)

There is something to be said for the possibility of change in each individual and Herai says it loud and clear. The heaviness of the above theme aside this is an incredibly entertaining book. There are a lot of exciting, thought-provoking scenes and stories to keep you up all night. Herai has an incredible cast of characters. There are many characters but only a few important ones. However remember there are two versions of each character…[which]… adds a whole new depth of colour to the narrative. (Thanks ErikaP 3 out of 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️)

I liked the message I took from the book. One person simply being a kind, loving presence can make all the difference in the world. I also liked how the characters came to life. I feel like I got to know some of them like new friends. Some of them remind me of people I know in real life. (Thanks Stasia. 3 out of 4 stars⭐⭐⭐)

Herai is a science fiction fantasy and a debut novel…The characters in the story are interesting and leave a lasting impression on the mind of the reader…a debut novel [which] dealt a complex plot with a lot of easiness and elegance. (Thanks Sirajuddin 3 out of 4 stars.⭐⭐⭐)

Fast paced and intriguing, Herai is difficult to put down. Both worlds have their mysteries and leave you wondering what the outcome will be for each tale. Aaron D.Key has mastered the art of storytelling as he tells not one story, but two. Considering this is his first novel, I am excited to see where he goes from here. (Thanks Celia. 3 out of 4 stars⭐⭐⭐.)

I found this book to be a pleasant read. Not only do the characters feel real, with their flaws, hopes, traits and fears, but none seem completely innocent or guilty until the end….Herai is, all things considered, a novel I’d willingly recommend to anyone who enjoys mystery and detective stories as well as adventure tales and who doesn’t mind a slow plot. (Thanks Diana. 3 out of 4 stars⭐⭐⭐.)

My favourite points of the book would be the different romantic relationships, the exploration of how big a difference one person can make, and the intricacies of the world itself…Herai would most appeal to people who enjoy more realistic fantasy books, people who enjoy mysteries, and people who enjoy thinking about what humanity is. (Thanks Rayasaurus 3 out of 4 stars⭐⭐⭐.)

I found it puzzling and felt like too much was happening. But that, in fact, is the only thing slightly wrong with this book: too much is happening. However it did not take too much time for this book to grow on me, and pave its way to being one of the best book I’ve ever read. The writing style, while unconventional, is gripping and almost addictive…Herai is well written and a promising debut. The space it creates is wonderful, and it leaves you wanting more. Does it sound all confusing to you? I totally agree! The story is indeed baffling but this the case until you complete the first hundred pages. Once you cross this mark then you are all set to enjoy the story. (Thanks Payal80 2 out of 4 stars⭐⭐.)

My most liked part is that the language used is beautiful, at times reminiscent of Charles de Lint or Peter S. Beagle. (Thanks Baroukers 3 out of 4 stars.⭐⭐⭐)

However confusing the start of the book was, I still rate Herai 4 out of 4 stars because the attention to detail and exciting storyline makes up for it in the end. I was intrigued and honestly could not stop reading the book until I reached the final page. The depth of the characters and realistic thoughts kept me engaged in the story. No one was beyond suspicion as the mystery unfolded, which kept me guessing as to who was behind the rebellion That is why 3 stars was just not enough to express my love for this book.(Thanks Bakerpie 😁 4 out of 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐.)

Herai is an ambitious fantasy book written by Aaron D.Key…It’s a passionate story about fighting your fears, finding love and investigating truth, with Herai’s life hanging in the balance as an ominous godlike onlooker, commentates the chaos…At times soul-crushing and dark, and at others uplifting and brilliant, Herai has a compelling premise and a diverse cast of likeable characters…It’s almost as much a political thriller, romance and investigative mystery as it is a fantasy book. (Thanks Lindsey Klaus 3 out of 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐)

I found Herai difficult and frustrating to read but it is certainly an intriguing concept…a redeeming factor is the quality of the writing. Every now and then I had to stop and savour a description or metaphor. (Thanks Jenjay. 2 out of 4 stars⭐⭐.)

The plot is very well created We cannot guess what will happen next. The suspense level is maintained throughout the story and it encouraged me to continue reading this book…Every character has their own weakness and strength and none of them is perfect…I also felt that the author has given enough space to the characters to express and develop especially Herai and that helps the reader to connect with them. The character development is my favourite part of the book. (Thanks Ghostfriend, 3 out of 4 stars.⭐⭐⭐)
